If you select the material you want for everything, then select your whole mesh, and click assign, you'll assign just one. In the materials tab, you select one in edit mode, then click the select assigned button below, and you'll see the prims that have that material assigned. Man, you better recover the quads before you go much farther. The two meshes have been joined, so it only shows one material when I click on the mesh. What's going on?
